Low speed can reduce air pressure of cabin and direction change can remove wind from the position on fire or blow the fire out of board, which can help fire fighting activity.

2. Control fire first and then try to extinguish.

3. Rescue people first.

4. Report your location. Reported location should be accurate. Report the latest location in time.

5. Command wisely taking effective measures in fire fighting.

6. Stability and floating condition of ship should be considered properly before applying water for fire fighting. Otherwise during fire fighting, measures of water discharging should be taken to ensure ship stability and floatability.

7. Internal and external communication and every step should be recorded in detail.

8. Extinguish ember thoroughly.

9. Count the number of staff and passengers to avoid separation.

10. If there is no hope to be successful in fire fighting, try to get the ship stranded or leave the ship.
