WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE ULTRASONIC LEVEL METER?

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE ULTRASONIC LEVEL METER?

Generally speaking, when installing the ultrasonic level meter, the following requirements should be followed:

 1. Blind zone: The distance from the highest liquid level to the probe surface of the ultrasonic level gauge should be greater than the blind zone of the probe.

 2. Vertical: When the transducer is installed, it is necessary to ensure that the emitting surface of the transducer is parallel to the plane to be detected, so that the sound wave can be vertically emitted to the surface of the object to be measured. This ensures maximum energy return.

Tip: If there is steam in the site environment, it is easy to form water droplets attached to the surface of the probe, and the range of the probe is much larger than the actual distance to be measured. Then it can be tilted about 3 degrees, so as to avoid the influence of water droplets.

 3. Agitation and fluctuation: In the occasion of agitation or fluctuation, it can be installed with an extended conduit. The conduit extends directly into the underside of the liquid level. The diameter of the catheter of the ultrasonic level gauge only needs to be larger than the radiation surface of the probe, but it is necessary to ensure that the inner wall of the catheter is smooth, and the liquid level inside the pipe is consistent with that outside the pipe. If the large range is not suitable for installation with conduit, the range can be reduced, and the specific reduction depends on the size of the wave.

4. Tank wall and obstacles: If the tank wall is smooth, and when the liquid level is lowered, there will be no hanging of materials, then most of them can be installed at a distance of 30cm from the tank wall. If the tank wall is rough, the probe should be installed away from the tank wall. The bottom of the tank is not flat, so there may be false detections at zero level. If it is a conical bottom, consider installing the probe just above the apex of the cone. For round bars, as long as the distance exceeds 1m and the diameter does not exceed 5cm, the impact is not large, otherwise, try to avoid them. However, for the horizontal bar, the tank wall has a right angle, and it should be avoided as much as possible.
